city type
Szczecinek has two faces, and both work in a courier's favor, just for different reasons. In summer the city on Lake Trzesiecko fills with tourists, the promenade buzzes late into the night, and orders pour in from resorts and rented apartments. Off-season it settles into a calm but stable county town with its own plants and schools. In autumn the number of couriers drops faster than orders — that's your window.
Pickups happen mainly in the center and around the main pedestrian street, where the restaurants concentrate. You'll deliver to housing estates, single-family homes, and in season to resort venues strung along the lakeshore. That last direction is worth learning by heart, since navigation apps like to route you the long way around. In winter some venues cut their hours, so check what's actually open before heading out for a late shift.

Frequently asked questions
How much can you earn as a food delivery courier?
You typically take home 25–55 zł an hour depending on the city, time and weather — that is after deductions, not gross. On Uber Eats in heavy rain or snow it can reach 60–80 zł/h: fewer couriers are out and the orders pile up. Your result depends on how many orders you accept, the distances and the bonuses running in that app. You see the rate for every job in the app before you accept it.
What documents do you need to work as a courier?
Basics: a valid ID or passport, a PESEL number, and a Polish bank account for payouts. Non-EU foreigners also need a residence card, work-permit visa or UKR status (for Ukrainians). For a car or scooter you also need a driving licence and vehicle papers. The whole verification runs online, usually through a settlement partner.
How does registration work and how long does it take?
You sign up online with a settlement partner — fill in the form, upload your documents, sign the contract. The partner then activates your account in the apps you chose. Bolt Food usually the same day or the next one, Uber Eats within 24–72 hours. With Wolt and Glovo the timing depends on whether they are currently recruiting couriers in your city — if they are, it usually takes a few days. Your consultant will check this before you gather any paperwork.
Can you rent a vehicle instead of buying one?
Yes — an e-bike or an electric delivery car can be rented as well as bought. It's a sensible way in if you'd rather not buy your own vehicle straight away.
How many orders do you realistically get per hour?
There is no single number — it comes down to the app, the zone and the time of day. Glovo advertises a near-continuous flow of orders and has the largest partner network, while Bolt Food has the smallest order pool, which is why it's usually kept as a second app. During the evening peak jobs come back to back; in the middle of a weekday you can sit idle for a long stretch. The app shows how many hours you were online and what you earned in that time — after a week you'll know your real pace.
What to do if the customer doesn't answer the door?
Try calling through the app first — the customer's number is hidden, but the call goes through. At Bolt Food the rule is three contact attempts and ten minutes of waiting; at Uber Eats the app counts down seven minutes. The exact sequence is always shown in the app itself. Then report it to support — once they confirm, you either leave the order at the door or take it back to the restaurant. How that trip is paid is decided by the app's own support.
What happens if you decline orders often?
It depends on the app. Bolt Food has the only officially published threshold — an 80% acceptance rate — and a low rate sits outright on its list of reasons for blocking an account; missed offers count the same as rejected ones. Wolt officially doesn't penalise declines and publishes no threshold, though it does show you an acceptance indicator, and on Uber Eats declining carries no consequences. On Glovo your acceptance share feeds the Excellence Score; there are no slots to book in your city from 28 September 2026, but declines can still cost you access to the account.
