Your pay is built from the pickup, the delivery and the distance, and in selected cities from time as well; on top of that come quests and multipliers, which in practice account for most of the difference in what you earn.

Turzyn, with dense pre-war housing and the junction at pl. Zwycięstwa, means fast, short jobs; Gumieńce connects the University of Szczecin campus with new developments; Pomorzany is classic panel-block territory with Wzgórze Hetmańskie in the middle. The food scene does not end at the Bogusław promenade: al. Wojska Polskiego has a pizzeria that has been open continuously since 1978, and there are venues on Monte Cassino, in Podzamcze, on pl. What to ride
Unlike Lodz and Poznan, the city bike scheme works here — Bike_S, operated through the Roovee app, with a monthly pass costing a little over a dozen złoty. The wide avenues favour a moped, and in the 2024 ranking of driver-friendly cities Szczecin came fourth in Poland. Watch the north of the city: since 28 July 2026 ul. Policka has been narrowed to one lane with a 30 km/h limit, and the works will run until September 2027.
In Bukowe-Klęskowo the streets are named after colours (Brązowa, Seledynowa and so on) — reading an address by ear it is extremely easy to mix one up with another, so read the entry rather than guessing. Heading north, factor in the narrowing of ul. Policka: with one lane and a 30 km/h limit that stretch can eat more time than the rest of the route put together.
Uber Eats or other apps?
Bolt Food does not operate in Szczecin, so the real choice is Glovo, Wolt and Uber Eats. Free access to the labour market is held by, among others, EU citizens, full-time students, holders of the Karta Polaka and of permanent residence, graduates of Polish universities and Ukrainians covered by the special act. Watch out for one trap: a karta pobytu issued for a specific employer requires the decision to be amended before you start riding.
Does Uber Eats require a criminal record certificate?
A criminal record certificate is not something Uber Eats asks for — and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Uber does not ask couriers for a criminal record certificate from the National Criminal Register, even though some intermediaries' websites claim it does. A trip to court for a certificate is a wasted day and wasted money; what gets checked is your identity and your right to work, not your record.
Do I have to have my own company?
Your own business is not required and it does not shorten the path. Uber stopped signing direct B2B contracts with couriers — the account is opened through a settlement partner, who takes on the contract, the taxes and the payouts. People with a company simply settle with that same partner on a B2B basis.
What do I see before I accept a job?
Before you tap Accept you see the restaurant name, the fee for the job, the expected time and a map with two points. The customer point is approximate — the actual house number appears after you collect the order. That is a difference from Wolt, where you know the address straight away, and the reason why knowing your districts counts for so much on Uber Eats.
Do I have to book slots or wait for recruitment to open?
You book nothing and wait for nothing. Uber does not ask you to declare hours, keeps no slot calendar and does not close recruitment in the cities where it operates — it is the most flexible app on the Polish market.
Why does the partner deduct 23% VAT — is that fair?
The reverse charge sounds alarming, but in practice it just means the VAT travels to the tax office through the partner rather than through you. You can check the fairness of it with a calculator: work out the difference between the gross amount in your summary and the net amount in the app — that much, and not a grosz more, may be deducted. Tips and quests are a separate matter; sources disagree on whether they fall under the same mechanism, so ask your own partner directly.
How much can you realistically earn, and where does the difference come from?
Earnings on Uber Eats are strongly seasonal: November and December can be several times better than July. The base has been hidden since the reform at the end of October 2024, so couriers look at what they can see — the amount on the job, the active quests and the zone multiplier. One detail surprises a lot of people: those who ride the most get harder quests for the same money (30 deliveries instead of 15), and a two- or three-week break usually brings the standard thresholds back.
I already ride with Uber Eats under another partner — can I switch?
It is the simplest migration in the industry: no notice periods counted in weeks and no waiting for the end of the month. In practice the whole process fits into two days — one to reassign the account, one for your first settlement with the new settlement partner.
Can I combine Uber Eats with other apps?
Combining apps is allowed — the one platform with an explicit ban on multi-apping during paid hours is Pyszne. Bolt Food and Wolt work best alongside Uber Eats. Just be careful with stacking: an approximate customer area is not enough to judge whether two jobs really are on the same route.
How do cash orders work?
Cash came back to Uber Eats in June 2026 and works differently than on other apps: the money from the customer stays with you, and the system subtracts it from your subsequent cashless payouts — earn 500 zł, collect 200 zł in cash, and 300 zł lands in your account. You only get such orders when your positive balance covers the amount, and you see them marked before you accept. You do not hand the cash to the restaurant, and if you do not want cash at all you switch the option off in the Uber Driver settings.
