Gdansk is a port city by the sea with a strong tourist flow, especially in summer. All major platforms operate here: Glovo, Wolt, Uber Eats, Bolt Food, Pyszne and Stuart. Order volume is high, but so is competition, so picking the right hours matters more than working long days.

For the Old Town and Wrzeszcz, a bicycle often beats a car because of summer traffic and limited parking. If you live further out or plan to take heavy orders, a car or scooter is a better fit. Run Bolt Food, Uber Eats and Wolt together, accept the best offer, and keep Glovo on a separate phone or shift.

Frequently asked questions

How much can you earn as a food delivery courier?
Average rate is 30–50 zł per hour depending on city, time and weather. The best weekend evenings can pay 60–80 zł/h. Earnings depend on order volume, distances and active bonuses on the platform. Working 6–8 hours per day during peak windows produces a solid monthly income.
What documents do you need to work as a courier?
Basics: a valid ID or passport, PESEL number, and a Polish bank account for payouts. Non-EU foreigners also need a residence card, work-permit visa or UKR status (for Ukrainians). Cars and scooters require a driver's licence and vehicle papers. The whole verification runs online, usually through a fleet partner.
How does registration work and how long does it take?
You register online with a fleet partner — fill in a form, upload documents, sign the contract. The partner activates your account on the chosen platforms. The whole process takes 2–7 working days. Bolt Food and Uber Eats are fastest; Wolt and Glovo sometimes take longer due to verification. Once active, you can ride the same day.
Can you work at night?
Yes — in bigger cities Bolt Food and Uber Eats run until 23–24, and Friday/Saturday often until 2–3 AM. Night rates can be higher because fewer couriers are out. It works well for students and people combining delivery with another job. Smaller cities usually wrap up by 22–23.
What to do if the customer does not answer the door?
Try calling through the app — the number is hidden but the call works. If they don't pick up for 5–8 minutes, send a message and contact support. After confirmation you can leave the order at the door or return it to the restaurant. You will be paid the full delivery fee.
Can you choose orders or are they assigned randomly?
Each platform works differently. Wolt and Bolt Food show the order before you accept — you can decline if it is too far or pays too low. Glovo auto-assigns within your booked slot, but you can decline without big consequences if your rating is solid.
What to do if the restaurant order is wrong?
Always check the order number on the receipt before leaving — staff mistakes happen regularly. If something is missing or wrong, ask the staff to fix it on the spot. If you only notice later, report it through the app chat — your rating won't suffer if you react quickly.
