Gdansk and the Tricity for couriers: footbridge, Sopot, wind
Six apps across the Tricity
Gdańsk has 489,328 residents (as of 31.12.2025) and, with Gdynia and Sopot, forms the Tricity. Since 5 October 2026 Glovo here has worked without booking slots; you can also deliver for Wolt, Uber Eats, Bolt Food, Pyszne and Stuart.
Gdynia is uphill
Witomino and Chwarzno-Wiczlino sit on a moraine with steep climbs — an e-bike makes a big difference.
The bridge that lifts
Most Stągiewny — a pedestrian and cycle drawbridge to Wyspa Spichrzów — lifts on request for boats up to 7 times a day. When cycling through the centre, keep a detour over another bridge in mind. By car, the quickest way to Stogi and Sobieszewo is the free tunnel under the Martwa Wisła.
Sopot — paid parking at weekends too
From 1 May 2026, parking in central Sopot (the red zone) is paid every day, including Saturdays and Sundays; the first hour costs 9.50 zł. A bike or scooter is more practical here.
Wind and seagulls
Strong winds blow over the bay on about 60 days a year, most of all in winter. On the promenades and by the pier, be careful when handing over an order — seagulls can snatch food right out of your hand.
When Główne Miasto is bursting at the seams
At the turn of July and August, St Dominic’s Fair draws up to 70,000 people a day to central Gdansk. In early July, during Open’er, expect traffic jams near the airfield in Gdynia-Kosakowo.

What earnings can a courier expect in Gdansk?
You typically take home 25–55 zł an hour — that is after deductions, not gross. With Uber Eats in heavy rain or snow it can reach 60–80 zł/h. In the very centre, yes. From 1 May 2026, parking in the red zone is paid every day, including Saturdays and Sundays, and the first hour costs 9.50 zł. In the blue zone on the edge of the centre you only pay Monday to Friday.
