Courier jobs with Bolt Food in Gdansk
The Tricity was one of Bolt Food's first markets in Poland, and it is also the most capricious in its topography — a tunnel under the Dead Vistula, a bridge that lifts at a skipper's request, and three separate cities in one zone mean the result is decided by route planning rather than by the kilometres you cover.
What working with Bolt Food looks like
Bolt Food is the delivery app from the Bolt family — the same one behind the rides. For a courier that means, above all, zero planning: you book no slots, declare no hours and collect no points to unlock the schedule. You switch the app on, an order offer arrives with the fee and the address already visible, and you have about a minute to decide. There is a flip side, and we say it plainly: there are fewer orders here than on Glovo or Wolt, which is why most couriers keep Bolt Food as their second app.

Where the orders are
Wyspa Spichrzów is a gastronomic magnet with packed venues along the main waterfront and half-empty side streets a step away; Chełm, at a density of over 7,700 people per square kilometre, gives you runs of short, repeatable deliveries; and Jasień is growing fastest in the city — blocks of flats in the north and almost village-like housing in the south.
When to ride
The order window is roughly 8:00–23:00. In summer the rhythm is dictated by events: St Dominic's Fair runs for three weeks from the end of July and can draw tens of thousands of people into the centre each day, while above-average wind blows here on about 60 days a year, mainly from August to April.
What to ride
Mevo means 5,299 bikes, nearly four thousand of them electric, and more than 400 stations in Gdansk alone — a real alternative to owning your own. By car, count on the tunnel under the Dead Vistula as a free shortcut to Stogi and Sobieszewo, and on Sopot, where from 1 May 2026 parking is charged at weekends too, 9:00–22:00, from 9.50 zł for the first hour.
On the waterfronts, never collect or hand over food with the bag open — the gulls in the Tricity regularly snatch food out of people's hands, most often at the moment you are looking at your phone. For deliveries to Stogi and Sobieszewo, plan the route through the free tunnel under the Dead Vistula; going the long way round usually costs you ten minutes or more.
How Bolt Food differs from other apps
Bolt Food does not have the volume of the biggest apps here, and out of season the gaps between offers can be long — but it ties you to nothing: you switch it on for two hours of the weekend peak and switch it off again. In practice most couriers in the Tricity treat it as a supplement to a shift rather than its foundation.
How to become a Bolt Food courier — 3 steps
To start riding with Bolt Food you need a settlement partner — they are the ones who put you forward to the platform and take over all the paperwork. The form, the documents and the contract all go online, and accounts are activated in batches, usually within a few days of your document set being complete.
Full name, e-mail and phone — they carry over into the partner's system, so you type them once.
Upload a scan of your ID on the site and sign the contract electronically. No need to wait for a call first.
Settlements and payouts live there. The advisor may call later, even a week on — your registration moves ahead regardless.

Questions about working with Bolt Food — Gdansk
How much does a Bolt Food courier earn in Gdansk?
In summer, at the weekend peaks, a delivery usually gives around 9–15 zł gross; out of season it is more like 8–12 zł. The amounts in the app are gross — for net, divide by 1.23 — and the hourly figure depends heavily on order density, which on this app is lower than at the two biggest competitors.
How should I plan routes through central Gdansk?
The Stągiewny Bridge lifts on a vessel's request as often as seven times a day, with an hour's notice, so a route through the centre can close without warning. It is worth having a second way across in your head before you accept an order from one bank of the Motława to the other.
Is it worth taking deliveries to Sopot from the Tricity?
Hopping between the cities rarely comes out ahead, and since May 2026 there is one more argument against it: parking in Sopot is charged every day from 9:00 to 22:00, weekends included. On a bike or a moped the sums look better, but it is still wiser to stay in one area for the whole session.
Do I have to accept every order on Bolt Food?
Bolt gives a specific number here and does not hide it: the required acceptance rate is 80%, meaning 8 orders out of 10. One detail matters a great deal — orders you simply miss count exactly the same as ones you decline: if an offer expires because you were not quick enough, your statistics drop all the same. You have about a minute to decide. A low acceptance rate is named outright among the reasons for having an account blocked, so this is not optional advice.
Do I have to book slots or declare hours on Bolt Food?
There are no slots on Bolt Food at all — no bookings, no shifts, no minimum number of hours. You switch the app on when you want to ride and switch it off when you are done. The only commitment concerns an order you have already accepted: that one you deliver before you finish for the day.
How does Bolt Food calculate the delivery fee?
Bolt pays separately for collecting the order, separately for delivering it and separately for the distance, and the kilometres are counted only from the restaurant to the customer — the ride to the venue is not included. Zone and dynamic multipliers go on top, and in bad weather or heavy demand the fees rise automatically. You will not find a price table anywhere: since spring 2024 the platform has published the rules only, not the amounts.
Why does the amount in the app not match what lands in my account?
The figures on the screen are gross values, not what will reach your account. A simple conversion: take the amount from the app, divide it by 1.23 and you have an approximate net figure. It is worth remembering when you compare Bolt Food with apps that show the courier the post-deduction amount straight away.
Can I ride for Bolt Food on my own działalność gospodarcza?
There is no way in on your own company — Bolt does not sign B2B contracts with couriers, so a partner fleet is the only route. That is a real difference from Uber Eats and Wolt, where a działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship) is one of the options. For a courier without a company it is actually a simplification: the contract, the taxes and the contributions are taken on by the partner.
Are there cash orders on Bolt Food?
Cash orders are appearing again — across the whole of Poland since 2026. You do not need a float of your own or change; the app keeps the debt limit at 200 zł and once you go past it simply stops offering such orders. The money you take in you leave at restaurants on your following pickups.
Do I have to buy the branded Bolt Food bag?
A thermal bag is compulsory, but a branded one is not — the terms explicitly allow you to use your own. If you have a bag left over from another app, it will comfortably do for the start. The Bolt bag is paid for and carries a deposit: when you close your account you have to return it within 3 working days, otherwise the deposit is lost.
What documents do I need, and what can I ride?
The platform's requirements are short: you must be 18 or over and hold a photo ID (a dowód osobisty — Polish ID card, a passport or a karta pobytu — residence card), a Polish phone number and a bank account. During registration you take a selfie with the document so that both the photo and the date of birth are visible. Bolt allows a bicycle, a scooter and a car, and partners add a moped to that; a short hygiene and health-and-safety training course is compulsory too.
I already ride for Bolt Food under another partner — can I switch?
Moving to another partner takes a day in practice. The new partner files you into their fleet, you send a short confirmation through support in the Bolt app, and that is it. The account stays the same, and so do your statistics and delivery history.
Does Bolt Food pay for waiting at the restaurant?
Waiting at a venue for more than 15 minutes earns compensation — the counter starts after that threshold and the amount is added to the settlement for that order. A sensible safeguard against kitchens that are habitually late, though it is no substitute for the earnings of another delivery.
Does Bolt Food really have fewer orders than Glovo and Wolt?
Bolt Food's biggest weakness is well known and worth knowing before you start: there can be noticeably fewer orders than at the competition, especially outside peak hours. That translates into longer gaps between deliveries and a lower hourly figure if you ride on this app alone. Couriers solve it simply — they keep it alongside their main platform and take from it whatever happens to be worth taking.
