Glovo and Uber Eats in the old sulphur town
For decades Tarnobrzeg lived off sulphur. Today the town, home to 42,730 people (as of 31.12.2025), gets its food from Glovo and Uber Eats couriers. Since 28 September 2026 Glovo has needed no slot booking, and one settlement partner lets you ride for both apps at once.

Wisłostrada roadworks, paid parking by the Rynek
The dual-carriageway Wisłostrada (regional road 871) runs from Nagnajów, where the DK9 crosses the Vistula, towards the centre. It is being rebuilt from 14 October 2026 to May 2027, so expect delays. The paid parking zone by the Rynek runs Mon–Fri 8:30–17:30; the first hour costs 3 zł.

Tarnobrzeg covers 85.6 km² and is split into 15 estates. Its districts include Serbinów, Siarkowiec, Przywiśle, Mokrzyszów and Dzików with the Tarnowski palace. On the south-eastern edge, where the villages of Machów and Kajmów once stood, the lake now spreads out — runs there are the longest.
The Rynek on pl. Bartosza Głowackiego
Most places to eat are on the Rynek, i.e. pl. Bartosza Głowackiego — in summer almost all of them set up outdoor seating, and another restaurant opened by the fountain in January 2026. Also in the centre, Pasaż Dominikański at ul. Sikorskiego 5 has been open since March 2026 with 22 units.
A lake where the mine was
In 2009 the pit of the Machów sulphur mine was flooded with Vistula water, creating Tarnobrzeg Lake: 455 ha, up to 42 m deep, with a beach over 2 km long. The State Academy of Applied Sciences is at ul. Sienkiewicza 50 — a student under 26 on an umowa zlecenie pays no ZUS or income tax.
