Stalowa Wola for couriers: the DK77 bypass, Rozwadów, VIVO!
Glovo and Uber Eats in a town built around a steelworks
Stalowa Wola was built in the late 1930s next to a COP industrial plant, and today, in a town of 53,540 residents (GUS, 31.12.2025), food is delivered by Glovo and Uber Eats couriers. Since 5 October 2026 Glovo needs no slot booking, and one settlement partner lets you ride for both apps.
On the San, in the Sandomierz Forest
The town lies on the San river, amid the Sandomierz Primeval Forest. The Stalowa Wola Miasto Rowerów bike scheme was contracted for the 2023–2026 seasons: 15 stations, open from 1 April to 31 October. In winter you need your own bike, and since September 2024 residents with a Karta Mieszkańca have ridden MZK buses for free.
The DK77 bypass and a new San bridge
Since 15 May 2021 through traffic has skipped the centre on the 15+ km Stalowa Wola–Nisko bypass (DK77), which starts at Trasa Podskarpowa and ul. Chopina. On regional road 855 the longest bridge in Podkarpacie is going up over the San — Strabag was building it in November 2024.
Rozwadów, Charzewice and 82.5 km²
Stalowa Wola covers about 82.5 km². Rozwadów — a town chartered in 1690, now a district with a market square and a railway station — joined in 1973, and Charzewice on the San in 1977. Runs from the centre to these areas take noticeably longer than trips within the centre.
VIVO! on ul. Chopina and the Rozwadów square
The biggest retail spot is VIVO! Stalowa Wola at ul. Fryderyka Chopina 42, opened in November 2015 with around 80 shops in its first phase. It is the same street where the DK77 bypass begins. The other place worth knowing is the market square in Rozwadów.
The steel town and Huta Stalowa Wola
Work on the Southern Works, part of the COP programme, began in March 1937; the town's name comes from a phrase used by Gen. Tadeusz Kasprzycki, and it got town rights on 1 April 1945. Today Huta Stalowa Wola makes military equipment like the Borsuk IFV — the HSW group had 3,777 staff at the end of 2025.
