Nowa Sol for couriers: the Odra, the ring road, the industrial zone
Glovo in a town built on salt
The town owes its name to a salt works founded here in 1563. Today 35,230 people live in Nowa Sól (GUS, 31.12.2025), and food is delivered through Glovo — with no slot booking since 14 September 2026. When more apps launch here, one settlement partner will let you ride for several at once.
A bike for 21.8 km²
The Odra closes the town off to the east, and Nowa Sól covers just 21.8 km², so trips are short and your own bike or e-bike will do. The 2023 regeneration programme admits there are too few cycle paths, though, and none around the port — expect part of each trip on the road.
The S3 ring and the Odra bridge
The S3 skirts the town to the north and west; the Odra marks the eastern edge. Since 24.10.2024 a 1.7 km link from the Odra bridge to the S3 closes the ring, easing ul. Południowa. The centre has a paid parking zone (e.g. Plac Wyzwolenia, ul. Muzealna); after an audit the town is weighing changes.
Blocks, Kompozytorów and Przyszłość
Most addresses are in the blocks of the Armii Krajowej, Konstytucji 3 Maja, Paderewskiego, Kopernika and Spółdzielcze estates. Further out lie the Kompozytorów and Przyszłość estates, and SubBus lines also run to Stare Żabno, Kiełcz and the northern industrial zone. Zielona Gora is 20.6 km away.
Plac Wyzwolenia and retail parks
The heart of the centre is formed by ul. Piłsudskiego, Wojska Polskiego and Zjednoczenia, together with Plac Wyzwolenia, which hosts town events and fairs. Further out: Park Handlowy S1 (ul. Północna 3, since 2025) and Miasteczko Handlowe Manhattan (ul. Kupiecka 80).
Factories, a port and a lift bridge
Nowa Sól is the third-largest town in the Lubusz region and an industrial hub: automotive and food plants line ul. Przemysłowa, Motoryzacyjna and Ekonomiczna, some in a special economic zone. On the Odra sits a port renovated in 2010, with a marina, a promenade and a steel bascule bridge from 1927.

To the east the Odra is the barrier — an address across the river means a detour via the bridge and a longer trip. The outskirts also take more time: the Kompozytorów and Przyszłość estates and the zone along ul. Przemysłowa. On fair and event days on Plac Wyzwolenia it is harder to find a spot for a quick stop in the centre.
On which days and at what times are there the most trips in Nowa Sol?
Peaks usually come at lunchtime and in the evening, and Fridays, weekends and rainy days, when few people want to go out, tend to be the strongest. On warm weekends it is also worth staying online around events on Plac Wyzwolenia and the riverside recreation park with Park Krasnala and the wake park.
