The old town inside the walls
The densest part is the old town, ringed by restored walls with the Wronia, Szewska and Kurza Stopa towers — around ul. Podmurna, ul. Staroszkolna and Plac Kościelny. Five railway lines meet at the station, opened in 1873, so some runs take you across the tracks.
Stary Rynek, its fountain and town hall
Most pick-ups are around the Stary Rynek, with its neo-Gothic town hall from 1904, cafés and a fountain recreated in 2002. A February 2026 resolution made it a separate zone Ia (Stary Rynek 1–6) with no season passes, so every stop by car is paid — a bike gets you closer for less.
Cradle of Polish sailing just outside town
About 6 km north lies Charzykowy on Lake Charzykowskie (over 1,300 ha), home of the oldest Polish sailing club — the lake is in the buffer zone of Bory Tucholskie National Park. In town, the 10th InterTony festival took place on 21 June 2025 at the Kolejarz 1926 stadium (ul. Lichnowska 1).
