Courier jobs with Uber Eats in Warsaw

Warsaw teaches you fastest what makes Uber Eats distinctive: before you pick the food up you only know the approximate customer area, and here an area can mean a gated entrance with a security guard or an estate with no way through from the next street. Couriers who know Warsaw's gated blocks and food halls pick jobs better than anyone who only looks at the amount.

Working with Uber Eats: what the courier job involves

On Uber Eats there is nobody to agree your hours with. The Uber Driver app has a single start button, and from that moment it feeds you jobs with the fee on show — you take the ones that suit you and skip the rest without explaining yourself. Your earnings come from the pickup, the delivery and the distance, and the real lever is quests for runs of orders plus multipliers in hot zones.

Zero commitment: no slots, no acceptance threshold, and turning a job down costs you nothing

Working with Uber Eats in Warsaw — areas, hours, transport

📍

Where the orders are

The handiest pickup points are the food halls — Fabryka Norblina, Hala Koszyki, Elektrownia Powiśle, Browary Warszawskie: a dozen or more kitchens under one roof and a single approach. On the Praga side, ul. Ząbkowska produces short evening jobs in dense housing, Bemowo and Chrzanów are new blocks with sensible numbering, and Służewiec — the old Mordor — is slowly emptying out, with one office in five standing vacant as tenants move to Wola.

When to ride

The office lunch has moved with the companies: Wola is now a safer bet than Domaniewska. Evenings belong to Praga and the residential districts, and in summer the five weekends of the Otwarta Ząbkowska festival close the street to cars and lift foot traffic. May is Warsaw's wettest month (close to 98 mm), which makes it a month of weather supplements.

🚲

What to ride

The city has 814 km of cycle routes, including 553 km of segregated paths, so a bike in the centre needs no defending. The real obstacle is the Warsaw escarpment — up to 25 metres of height difference between Powiśle and Śródmieście; there is a reason the electric Veturilo bikes are stationed there. In 2026 the city is running 36 roadworks, including on Aleje Jerozolimskie and the Poniatowski Bridge, so it is worth checking your river crossings before a shift.

💡 Worth knowing before your first shift in Warsaw

Before you head for Wilanów or Marina Mokotów, check on the map which gate you are going in by — neighbouring estates often have no connection between them, and fifty metres in a straight line turns into a detour around the whole block. There is no universal entryphone code: call the customer as soon as you have the food and can see the address, not once you are standing at the gate.

Uber Eats compared with other apps

In Warsaw, Uber Eats is the choice for people who do not want to plan anything in advance: no slots as on Glovo, no metrics as on Bolt Food. The price of that freedom is the hidden address — on Wolt you would see it straight away. Plenty of Warsaw couriers keep Uber Eats as their base app and add Bolt Food for the quiet hours.

How to start working with Uber Eats — 3 steps

Starting requires neither a company nor visits to government offices: you register with a settlement partner, go through video verification and send a photo of your thermal bag. The partner takes on the contract, the taxes and the payouts, and once your account is active you tap Go in the app whenever you feel like riding.

1
Fill in the form and proceed to registration

Full name, e-mail, phone — you'll land in the partner's system with fields prefilled.

2
Upload documents and sign the contract online

Everything step by step on the site — no office visit. Do it right away, no need to wait for a call.

3
Download the partner's app

Settlements and payouts live there. An advisor may call later — anything up to a week on; your registration keeps moving anyway.

Frequently asked — Uber Eats Warsaw

How much does an Uber Eats courier make in Warsaw?

Across Poland, delivery work usually comes to 25–55 zł net per hour, depending on the city, the app, the time of day and the weather. In Warsaw, realistically count on 39–47 zł net per hour riding the peaks, depending on the season and your vehicle; autumn with active quests can be better, high summer distinctly worse. These are take-home figures: that is what is left after the settlement partner's commission and contributions, whatever the earnings summary in the app adds up to.

If I cannot see the address, how do I choose jobs in Warsaw?

Before accepting you see the approximate customer area, and that is enough if you know the city: a pin in Miasteczko Wilanów or on a gated estate means a longer final stretch than the same distance in Śródmieście. Build yourself a private list of areas you only take when the fee is boosted.

Where in Warsaw is a run of jobs easiest to find?

Around the food halls and the dense restaurant clusters of Śródmieście and Wola — a dozen venues in one building cuts pickups to a minimum. In the evening Ząbkowska and its surroundings work well, especially on festival weekends.

What documents do I need to deliver with Uber Eats?

There is no upper age limit; the lower one is 18. Besides an identity document, the app will ask for vehicle details (for motorised ones — driving licence, registration document and OC), a bank account number and a short video verification. You sign the contract online with a settlement partner, and account activation normally takes one to three days.

What does a foreigner need in order to ride with Uber Eats?

Beyond your residence document the crucial item is PESEL — it is what unlocks the contract with a settlement partner. Then the basis to work: for citizens of Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova usually an oświadczenie o powierzeniu pracy, and for many other groups free access by law. Since July 2026 Uber also requires you to upload your umowa zlecenie (civil-law contract) and checks the legality of your work more closely — it pays to have the full set of papers from day one.

Does Uber Eats require a criminal record certificate?

A criminal record certificate is not something Uber Eats asks for — and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Uber does not ask couriers for a criminal record certificate from the National Criminal Register, even though some intermediaries' websites claim it does. A trip to court for a certificate is a wasted day and wasted money; what gets checked is your identity and your right to work, not your record.

Do I have to have my own company?

Without a company you ride completely legally: you sign a contract with a settlement partner, and it is they who pay the tax and the ZUS (social insurance) contributions. Direct cooperation between a courier and Uber on your own działalność is no longer possible, so a partner is not an option for beginners — it is the standard route for everyone.

What do I see before I accept a job?

Before you tap Accept you see the restaurant name, the fee for the job, the expected time and a map with two points. The customer point is approximate — the actual house number appears after you collect the order. That is a difference from Wolt, where you know the address straight away, and the reason why knowing your districts counts for so much on Uber Eats.

Do I have to accept every job?

Nobody makes you take everything: turning an offer down costs nothing, and the acceptance rate is not a gate on Uber Eats. If after accepting you realise the restaurant is stalling or the route does not suit you, you unhook yourself through problem with the order, provided you do not have the food yet. What does get punished is repeated lateness at pickup — the first time usually ends in a block of about an hour and a half.

Do I have to book slots or wait for recruitment to open?

You book nothing and wait for nothing. Uber does not ask you to declare hours, keeps no slot calendar and does not close recruitment in the cities where it operates — it is the most flexible app on the Polish market.

Why does the partner deduct 23% VAT — is that fair?

This is the one case on the market where deducting VAT is normal. Uber settles deliveries under the reverse charge mechanism, so the amounts for jobs reach the partner with the tax added, and the partner has a statutory duty to pay it on — that money was never yours. On Glovo or Stuart the figure in the app is already net, and deducting VAT there would simply mean reaching into your pocket. Check one thing: the deduction cannot be larger than the difference between gross and net. VAT is calculated as gross ÷ 123 × 23, so on 100 zł that is 18.70 zł, not 23 zł.

I already ride with Uber Eats under another partner — can I switch?

The move happens practically overnight — you do not have to stop riding. The new partner sends a fleet invitation, Uber reassigns the account usually the following day, and your settlements immediately run on the new terms. Just remember to send written notice terminating the contract with your previous company, so you do not end up in two systems at once.

What kind of thermal bag do I need?

There is no branded kit you have to buy. The requirement comes down to owning a sound thermal bag of the right size; another platform's logo bothers nobody. That is convenient when you switch from another app — you already have the gear.

How do cash orders work?

Since June 2026 some customers pay on delivery, and it is an ordinary part of the work, though still optional. The mechanics are simple: you keep the cash and the system deducts it from your next payouts, and such jobs only go to couriers with a positive balance. The practical point: you do not pass the money to the restaurant — they have their own settlement with Uber.
