Michałowo across the river and post-war estates

After the war the estates of Michałowo, Karbowo, Grunwald, Chrobrego and Morskie Oko grew up here. Michałowo was once a separate settlement about 2 km north-east of the centre, on the other side of the Drwęca — a run there from the old town means crossing a bridge.

The triangular Duży Rynek and ul. Sienkiewicza

Most pick-ups are in the old town around Duży Rynek — triangular despite its name, with the tower of the former Gothic town hall. Close by, where ul. Sądowa meets ul. Sienkiewicza, is the Dekada shopping centre (open since 2014). The Rynek is in zone A, so a bike gets you closest.

Gateway to the Brodnica Lake District

The Brodnica Landscape Park with 58 larger lakes starts right next to the town, and in town there is a lakeside centre on Niskie Brodno with beaches and boat hire. The big local event is Dni Brodnicy — in 2026 on 19–20 June, with concerts at Przedzamcze.
