Bolt Food Wroclaw — courier jobs

Wroclaw is spread across 48 neighbourhoods on both banks of the Odra, and this is where Bolt Food's zonal logic makes the biggest difference: a few hundred metres as the crow flies can mean a detour over a bridge, and knowing the alternative crossings translates directly into the number of deliveries you fit into an hour.

Working with Bolt Food: what the courier job involves

Bolt Food is the delivery app from the Bolt family — the same one behind the rides. For a courier that means, above all, zero planning: you book no slots, declare no hours and collect no points to unlock the schedule. You switch the app on, an order offer arrives with the fee and the address already visible, and you have about a minute to decide. There is a flip side, and we say it plainly: there are fewer orders here than on Glovo or Wolt, which is why most couriers keep Bolt Food as their second app.

Bolt Food — Wroclaw: where, when and what to ride

📍

Where the orders are

Ołbin, with its dense grid of cafés and narrow streets, is a dream on a bike and a nuisance in a car; Biskupin and Sępolno with their pre-war villas give quiet, well-paid evenings; and Jagodno is the fastest-growing area of new estates. Let Tarnogaj go without regret — what is left around the old gasworks is mostly industry and allotments, so orders are few and far between.

When to ride

Orders flow here roughly from 9:00 to 23:00, so there is practically no breakfast window — the day starts at lunch. The academic year lifts weekday evenings, and November and December are the smog peak, for which a mask is worth having: the annual average particulate level has risen here for the third year running.

🚲

What to ride

The cycle network has grown to 428 km, and the WRM city bike scheme returned in April 2025 with 240 stations and 2,400 bikes, so you can have a machine without owning one. Watch out for the Bartoszowicki Bridge — at 5.5 m wide it is the narrowest crossing in the city and a genuine bottleneck; since 2025 there is also a pedestrian and cycle ferry between Maślice and Osobowice, which cuts the crossing in the north-west to three or four minutes.

💡 Worth knowing before your first shift in Wroclaw

Learn the Maślice–Osobowice ferry — few couriers know about it, and in the north-west it turns a detour over a bridge into a three-minute crossing. On deliveries towards Bartoszowice, assume from the outset that the narrowest bridge in the city will be jammed: if an offer leads that way at peak time, judge it by minutes, not by kilometres.

Bolt Food compared with other apps

Competition in Wroclaw is dense and Bolt Food does not pretend to win on volume — fewer offers come through, but you do not pay for them with a booked schedule. For a courier already riding another app, it is a free source of extra routes in the hours when the main platform goes quiet.

How to become a Bolt Food courier — 3 steps

There is no way into Bolt Food either directly or on your own działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship) — the platform does not sign B2B contracts with couriers. The only route is a settlement partner: they add you to their fleet, sign the contract, handle the taxes and pass on the earnings that Bolt sends over as one lump sum.

Full name, e-mail and phone — they carry over into the partner's system, so you type them once.

2
Documents and contract — online

Upload a scan of your ID on the site and sign the contract electronically. No need to wait for a call first.

3

Bolt Food Wroclaw: what couriers ask about

How much does a Bolt Food courier earn in Wroclaw?

A typical delivery is around 8–14 zł gross, with the upper end showing up in higher-multiplier zones and in bad weather. The figures in the app are gross — divide by 1.23 — and the hourly result depends most on how many orders actually arrive; that stream is narrower here than on Glovo or Wolt.

From what time do Bolt Food orders start in Wroclaw?

The order window opens later here than in Warsaw — roughly from 9:00 to 23:00. The morning shift is off the table, but the evening runs long and does most of the turnover.

Bike or moped in Wroclaw?

Inside the moat ring and in Ołbin a bike is faster, because the narrow streets and bridges have no love for four wheels. A moped starts to pay off on deliveries out to Krzyki, Jagodno and Psie Pole, where distances grow and the zone multipliers make up for the longer route.

Do I have to accept every order on Bolt Food?

Bolt gives a specific number here and does not hide it: the required acceptance rate is 80%, meaning 8 orders out of 10. One detail matters a great deal — orders you simply miss count exactly the same as ones you decline: if an offer expires because you were not quick enough, your statistics drop all the same. You have about a minute to decide. A low acceptance rate is named outright among the reasons for having an account blocked, so this is not optional advice.

Do I have to book slots or declare hours on Bolt Food?

Instead of a calendar you have an ordinary online button. For many couriers that is the main reason to keep this app alongside others — you can switch it on for two hours on a Wednesday and not touch it for a week, with no consequences whatsoever. The one exception is an order already accepted, which has to be completed.

How does Bolt Food calculate the delivery fee?

Bolt pays separately for collecting the order, separately for delivering it and separately for the distance, and the kilometres are counted only from the restaurant to the customer — the ride to the venue is not included. Zone and dynamic multipliers go on top, and in bad weather or heavy demand the fees rise automatically. You will not find a price table anywhere: since spring 2024 the platform has published the rules only, not the amounts.

Why does the amount in the app not match what lands in my account?

The app counts in gross, so the daily summary always looks better than the transfer. You estimate the real amount by dividing the result by 1.23; on top of that come deductions such as the bag charge or the cash settlement. The full breakdown sits with the settlement partner, because they are the ones running the payouts.

Can I ride for Bolt Food on my own działalność gospodarcza?

There is no way in on your own company — Bolt does not sign B2B contracts with couriers, so a partner fleet is the only route. That is a real difference from Uber Eats and Wolt, where a działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship) is one of the options. For a courier without a company it is actually a simplification: the contract, the taxes and the contributions are taken on by the partner.

What are zones and multipliers on Bolt Food?

The zone multiplier is the most important fee mechanism in this app — it decides how much you get for an identical distance in two different parts of the city. Peak-hour and weather boosts layer on top and multiply with the zone multiplier. The effect is that a rainy evening in a less popular zone sometimes pays better than a dry weekend in the centre.

Do I have to buy the branded Bolt Food bag?

To carry food you need a thermal bag — without one the restaurant will not release the order. It does not have to be a bag with the Bolt logo, though; the terms allow your own, and plenty of couriers ride with kit from another app. The branded bag is paid for, and when you close your account you return it within 3 working days to get the deposit back.

I already ride for Bolt Food under another partner — can I switch?

Changing partner on Bolt Food is quick: the new partner adds you to their fleet, and you confirm the move by contacting support in the Bolt app. The whole procedure normally takes one day, and your account and delivery history stay yours — you are not starting from zero.

Can I combine Bolt Food with other apps?

There is no ban, and in practice this is exactly how the job looks here — most couriers keep Bolt Food as their second app next to a main one, because its own stream of orders rarely fills a whole shift. There is one technical catch: the Bolt Food app goes to sleep when it is not in the foreground, so if you are multi-apping you need to check on it every few minutes.

How much can you realistically earn on Bolt Food?

The honest answer is that there is no guaranteed hourly rate. Bolt's marketing talks about "up to 40 zł an hour"; independent courier calculations point rather to 8–15 zł gross for a single delivery, with a sizeable difference between zones. Keep two things in mind: the figures in the app are gross, and the stream of orders can be thinner than on Glovo or Wolt.

Does Bolt Food really have fewer orders than Glovo and Wolt?

Bolt Food's biggest weakness is well known and worth knowing before you start: there can be noticeably fewer orders than at the competition, especially outside peak hours. That translates into longer gaps between deliveries and a lower hourly figure if you ride on this app alone. Couriers solve it simply — they keep it alongside their main platform and take from it whatever happens to be worth taking.
