The centre around Skwer Kosciuszki and Swietojanska is where most jobs sit; Wzgorze Swietego Maksymiliana and Redlowo add the evenings, and Orlowo works seasonally. Witomino, Chylonia and Oksywie sit high above the port — getting there is measured in climb, not kilometres.
When to ride
The afternoon shift, 17:00-21:00, is the backbone, and the port-and-office midday delivers a decent lunch trade. Summer lifts the weekends, but here the demand does not vanish once the season ends.
What to ride
The city was built on hills, and that is the main argument for an e-bike or a scooter — an ordinary bike really only holds up in the flat centre. Wind off the sea can add more time to a ride than a traffic jam ever would.
Before you accept a job, look not just at the distance but at whether the route climbs — in Gdynia the same three kilometres can take twice as long. You see the fee before you tap accept, so you have something to weigh that effort against.

I ride in Gdynia — can I take orders from a neighbouring city?
Not on the same account — each one runs in its assigned zone. A city change is filed through the settlement partner and goes through only when recruitment in the new location happens to be open.
Can you actually ride a bike in Gdynia?
In the centre, absolutely — but any climb up towards Witomino, Kamienna Gora or Oksywie costs real effort. Couriers who stay here longer usually switch to an e-bike or a scooter.
What is Gdynia like outside the summer season?
Quieter than in July, but this is still a city that works all year round. Once the season ends, it is best to stick to the centre, since that is where orders bounce back fastest.
What documents do I need to deliver with Wolt?
You need an identity document, and foreigners also need proof of legal stay in Poland (karta pobytu — residence card, a visa or PESEL UKR). You upload the documents online, and the settlement partner checks them before your account is activated.
Do I need to register my own business?
A company of your own is not needed — through a settlement partner you ride completely legally without registering a działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship). The contract, the taxes and the ZUS (social insurance) contributions are on the partner's side, and our partner is on Wolt's official list of partners.
Do I have to accept every job?
There is no obligation to take everything the app offers, and Wolt publishes no threshold. From couriers' experience a safe level is over 60% accepted, and the closer to 80%, the fewer questions. A job you have already accepted is another story: you can drop it only a few times, and only through support.
Is my city actually taking on couriers?
Wolt activates new accounts only where recruitment in that city is open — in smaller cities it is sometimes closed for a while. The partner's advisor checks the current status before you collect your documents, so you do not spend time waiting for nothing.
What happens if I take a longer break?
A longer break puts your account to sleep: after about a month without deliveries it needs reactivation, which the partner handles. If you are planning a pause, it is worth telling your advisor — coming back on line is easier that way.
Do I have to book slots with Wolt?
Wolt does not use a slot system — you do not reserve hours ahead of time. You switch the app on when you have time and take the jobs offered; for many couriers the absence of a schedule is the main reason they choose this app.
Will I get equipment — a bag and a jacket?
Equipment comes down to a thermal bag — without one the restaurant will not hand over the order. Wolt does not trade in kit, so you sort a bag out through the settlement partner or use the one left over from your previous app.
Do tips go to the courier?
The tip amount shows in your settlement alongside the fee for the job and stays with you. Some couriers say tipping happens less often on Wolt than on Uber Eats — treat it as a bonus, not a plan.
Can I combine Wolt with other apps?
Couriers often keep Wolt as the main app and add Uber Eats or Bolt Food so they are not standing around between peaks. It is not combined with Glovo, though, whose stream of orders fills the whole shift.
Do I need to speak Polish?
Basic Polish or English is perfectly enough — the app runs on the map, and contact with the customer comes down to handing over the order. You can go through registration and support in Russian or Ukrainian.
I already deliver with Wolt under another partner — can I switch?
Moving to another settlement partner is handled on a monthly cycle: both partners file the request, and the account passes to the new one after the month ends. You do not have to stop riding — the current month is settled by your existing company. We describe the whole process on a separate page.
