Poland's pole of cold is a city of 67,879 residents (as of 31.12.2025), and Glovo and Uber Eats couriers deliver food here. Since 28 September 2026 Glovo has not required slot booking in Suwałki, and with one settlement partner you can combine both apps.
Short summers, long winters
Suwałki has the lowest average temperature of Poland's larger cities outside the mountains, and its growing season of about 200 days is the shortest in the country. From spring to autumn a bike works well, including along the Czarna Hańcza river paths; in winter a car feels safer.
The S61 to the west, paid parking only by City Hall
Since 13 April 2019, through traffic has bypassed the city to the west on a 12.8 km stretch of the S61 (Via Baltica), with the Suwałki Południe, Zachód and Północ junctions. Since 1 April 2025 only the car park on ul. Mickiewicza opposite City Hall is paid: Mon–Fri 8:00–16:00, 2 zł for the first hour.
Over 65 km² on the Czarna Hańcza
Suwałki covers 65.24 km², and the Czarna Hańcza river runs through it. The core of the centre is around ul. Kościuszki and the Park Konstytucji 3 Maja, but orders also go out to suburbs such as Krzywólka. For longer runs to the edges, a scooter or car helps.

Suwałki Plaza at ul. Dwernickiego 15 opened in 2010 with about 20,000 m² on three floors, more than 65 shops, a cinema and parking for 450 cars. The other pick-up area is the centre — ul. Kościuszki and the pedestrian ul. Chłodna linking it to Plac Marii Konopnickiej.
Blues, Wigry and the Lithuanian border
Every July Suwałki hosts Poland's largest open-air blues festival. Wigry National Park begins a few kilometres east of the city, the Lithuanian border is about 30 km away, and the Via Baltica runs past Suwałki towards Kaunas.
