Śródmieście with the Culture Zone and the Spodek area are the centre of events and orders; Ligota lives on students, while Koszutka and Dąb are the quiet, block-of-flats end of the job. The Chorzowska offices power the lunches.
When to ride
Office lunches 12–14 and evenings 18–21; concerts at the Spodek and NOSPR can turn a Tuesday into a mini-weekend. Student Ligota comes alive after 19:00.
What to ride
The centre is compact — a bike is enough; for Ligota and Piotrowice a scooter is faster. Smog is real in winter — an anti-smog mask helps.
On event days at the Spodek and the Culture Zone, stay central — runs in from Ligota simply don't pay for themselves then. If you drive, remember Chorzow and Sosnowiec start almost next door: check where your zone ends before you accept a long order.
Glovo or other apps?

What documents do I need to become a Glovo courier?
Polish citizens — an ID card. Foreigners — a passport plus proof of legal stay (residence card, visa or PESEL UKR). The settlement partner will check exactly what applies to you and help with legalisation.
Do I need to register my own business?
Having your own company is an option, not a condition. Going through a settlement partner is simpler: the formalities, settlements and contributions sit on their side, and you work legally from day one.
Does working with Glovo help with a residence card?
With Glovo the whole of your earnings is settled under an umowa zlecenie (civil-law contract) rather than split into a minimum contract plus vehicle rental — so your real income and the contributions paid show up in the paperwork. That paperwork is exactly what the office looks at when you apply for a karta pobytu (residence card), provided your income meets the required minimum. Your settlement partner issues the income certificate; the final requirements are confirmed by the voivodeship office.
Do I have to wait for the advisor's call to get going?
No waiting required: after the form you land in the partner's system, upload documents and sign the contract online, step by step. The advisor may call later — anything up to a week later — while your registration keeps moving the whole time.
How do Glovo slots work?
In the courier app you book time slots — an hour or half an hour, depending on the city and time of day. Book wisely: frequently cancelling reserved slots hurts your stats and access to the best hours.
Do tips go to the courier?
A tip left in the app goes to the courier in full and shows up in your settlement. Quick deliveries and polite contact make the biggest difference — at weekends tips can add a few złoty to your hourly rate.
Do I need a thermal bag?
Yes, food delivery requires a thermal bag. If you already have one from another app, you can usually keep using it; the partner's advisor will tell you the fastest way to get equipped in your city.
Do I need to speak Polish?
Basic Polish or English is enough — the app is map-based and the contact with customers comes down to a few phrases. You can complete the sign-up in Russian or Ukrainian, and the partner's support answers in those languages too.
How much tax will I pay if I'm under 26?
Under 26 you are covered by the ulga dla młodych (young person's relief) — no income tax advance is withheld, and if you hold student status no ZUS contributions are due on an umowa zlecenie either. In practice the whole payout reaches you. After your 26th birthday, or without student status, your partner withholds the tax advance and contributions, exactly as on any civil-law contract.
I already ride with Glovo under another partner — can I switch?
