Chrzanow for couriers: A4 bypasses, Kasztelania, the Fablok legacy
Slot-free Glovo in the locomotive town
Right by the A4 motorway, about 40 km west of Krakow, lies a town that had 33,193 residents (as of 31.12.2025). Here you deliver food with Glovo, which has needed no slot booking since 14 September 2026. When more apps launch in Chrzanow, you can add them through the same settlement partner.
38 km² and bike paths along the bypasses
Chrzanow covers 38.31 km², so runs between the estates and the centre are short and a bike or e-bike will do. A path follows the 3 km western bypass and the Balińska–Zielona section, and since February 2024 the Chechłostrada has been under construction along the Chechło stream (stage 1: ul. Podwale–Pogorska).
The A4, the DK79 and paid parking downtown
You leave the A4 at the Chrzanow junction on ul. Balińska or at Byczyna, where the western bypass leads. The north-eastern bypass crosses the DK79 on a viaduct. Downtown, since 19.11.2025 you pay Mon–Fri 8:00–16:00: 3 zł for the first hour, with the first 20 minutes free on a zero-fee ticket.
Północ, Południe, Kąty and Kościelec
Most addresses are in the housing estates: Północ (built from 1961), Południe (from 1979) and Trzebińska, plus Kąty, one of the largest estates. Then there is Kolonia Fabryczna by the old Fablok works, Rospontowa and Kościelec. In 2023 Kąty residents complained that evening buses stop early, so your own wheels help.
The Rynek, al. Henryka and Kasztelania
In the centre you pick up around the Rynek and on al. Henryka, for years the main shopping street. The other hub is the Kasztelania retail park at ul. Szpitalna 45a — opened in 2020 with 375 parking spaces and extended to 10,000 m² in 2026. There is also a shopping centre on ul. Trzebińska.
Fablok, Poland's first locomotive works
Founded in Chrzanow in 1919, Fablok built over 10,000 steam and diesel locomotives. After its 2013 bankruptcy, the plant and its roughly 20 ha site were bought in 2019 by Martech Plus. The railway arrived in 1847 with the Krakow–Silesia line; the main station, Chrzanów Główny, is on ul. Fabryczna.
