The closed flyover by the Rynek
The DK79 flyover over Chorzow's Rynek has been closed since 2 June 2025. In September 2026 the viaduct on ul. Nowa over the railway was closed too — vehicles up to 3.7 m high are sent through the tunnel on ul. Legnicka. The DTŚ, with a junction at ul. Dąbrowskiego, is the quick way across town.
A compact city of 33.5 km²
Chorzow covers just 33.5 km². Addresses are spread across Centrum (including old Klimzowiec), Chorzów Stary, Batory — joined to the city in 1939 — and Maciejkowice, where an estate of over 1,000 flats is planned. Silesian Park lies here too: 535 ha, about 200 ha more than New York's Central Park.
