Courier jobs with Bolt Food in Krakow

For Bolt Food, Krakow is a city of short routes and tight regulations at once: there are more than seven hundred food venues inside the Planty ring and in Kazimierz, but entry to that zone is rationed by wjazdówki (entry permits), and since January 2026 there is also a Clean Transport Zone covering around 60% of the city's area.

Working with Bolt Food: what the courier job involves

Bolt Food is the simplest of all the big delivery apps in Poland: no calendar, no bookings, no scoring to unlock the best hours. There is one hard number, though — 80% of orders accepted, which the platform states officially and monitors. You are paid for the pickup, for the delivery and for the kilometres from the restaurant to the customer, and zones with multipliers can turn the very same route into very different amounts.

Zero planning — no slots, no minimum hours, no booking ahead
You see the fee and the address before you tap "accept"
The city is split into zones with multipliers — the same route can pay very differently

Krakow up close: where Bolt Food orders are and at what hours

📍

Where the orders are

The core of the orders is the Old Town and Kazimierz, but more and more happens outside the tourist ring: Nowa Huta with a growing bar and restaurant scene next to the old milk bars, Czyżyny with the offices on Życzkowskiego, Prądnik Biały as the most populous district in the city. Ruczaj, with seven Jagiellonian University faculties, orders in the evenings like a separate small town.

When to ride

The app works roughly in a 7:00–23:00 window, and evenings here beat lunches hands down. Put Corpus Christi in your calendar separately — the processions can paralyse the centre from 9:30 to 14:00, and every route across the Planty then grows by a good ten minutes or more.

🚲

What to ride

In the city core a bike is less a choice than a necessity — a car is stopped both by the wjazdówki and by the Clean Transport Zone, and parking in sub-zone A costs 9 zł for the first hour. There is no point looking for a city bike scheme: Wavelo is gone, and the substitute is electric scooters at the P+R park-and-ride car parks, so your own kit is the foundation.

💡 Worth knowing before your first shift in Krakow

Position yourself on the outer side of the Planty rather than inside it — getting back out of the Rynek often takes longer than the delivery itself, and the multiplier does not make up for it. In Podgórze, remember Krzemionki: a climb of nearly 270 metres can swallow the whole profit of a short route if you are on an ordinary bike.

How Bolt Food differs from other apps

Bolt Food has a narrower restaurant list in Krakow than its competitors, and you feel it in the pace at which offers arrive; what it wins on is the absence of commitment — you can ride for two hours on a Wednesday and not come back for a week. Couriers usually run it alongside their main app and pick only the routes inside the Planty ring and Kazimierz.

How to become a Bolt Food courier — 3 steps

Starting with Bolt Food always runs through a partner fleet — unlike Uber Eats or Wolt, a company of your own changes nothing here, because the platform simply does not enter into a B2B contract with a courier. You register with a partner, upload your documents online, complete a short training course and wait for your account to be activated.

1
Fill in the form and proceed to registration

Full name, e-mail, phone — you'll land in the partner's system with fields prefilled.

2
Upload documents and sign the contract online

Everything step by step on the site — no office visit. Do it right away, no need to wait for a call.

3
Download the partner's app

Settlements and payouts live there. An advisor may call later — anything up to a week on; your registration keeps moving anyway.

Frequently asked — Bolt Food Krakow

How much does a Bolt Food courier earn in Krakow?

A delivery here most often works out at around 8–14 zł gross — the worse the weather and the fewer couriers in the zone, the closer to the upper end. These are gross amounts; you estimate net by dividing by 1.23, and the real hourly result depends mostly on order density, which on this app is lower than at the biggest players.

Will I be able to ride into the strict centre of Krakow on a delivery?

The wjazdówki — permits for the restricted-traffic zone, which covers not only the Rynek but Kazimierz as well — are issued in limited numbers, and delivery companies said so publicly at a City Council committee. On a bike the problem disappears, so most Bolt Food couriers serve this area on two wheels and cover the last stretch on foot.

Does the Clean Transport Zone affect a courier with a car?

From 1 January 2026 the SCT covers roughly 60% of Krakow's area, within the fourth ring road. During the transition period cars that do not meet the standards may enter after paying a fee — 100 zł a month in 2026, rising in the following years — so if you drive, work that into your sums in advance.

Do I have to accept every order on Bolt Food?

Declining is allowed, but within limits — Bolt expects 80% of orders accepted and says so officially. The trap for new couriers is unaccepted orders: if you do not react within about a minute, the system treats it as a refusal. Too low an acceptance rate sits on the official list of reasons for blocking an account, so it is worth watching from your very first week.

Do I have to book slots or declare hours on Bolt Food?

There are no slots on Bolt Food at all — no bookings, no shifts, no minimum number of hours. You switch the app on when you want to ride and switch it off when you are done. The only commitment concerns an order you have already accepted: that one you deliver before you finish for the day.

How does Bolt Food calculate the delivery fee?

Bolt pays separately for collecting the order, separately for delivering it and separately for the distance, and the kilometres are counted only from the restaurant to the customer — the ride to the venue is not included. Zone and dynamic multipliers go on top, and in bad weather or heavy demand the fees rise automatically. You will not find a price table anywhere: since spring 2024 the platform has published the rules only, not the amounts.

Can I ride for Bolt Food on my own działalność gospodarcza?

There is no way in on your own company — Bolt does not sign B2B contracts with couriers, so a partner fleet is the only route. That is a real difference from Uber Eats and Wolt, where a działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship) is one of the options. For a courier without a company it is actually a simplification: the contract, the taxes and the contributions are taken on by the partner.

What are zones and multipliers on Bolt Food?

Bolt Food prices deliveries through the prism of zones: the same route in a district short of couriers pays noticeably more than in the centre, where riders are plentiful. Between the extreme zones the spread on one delivery can reach nearly double. That is why experienced couriers learn the zone boundaries in their city faster than the street names.

Are there cash orders on Bolt Food?

Cash returned to Bolt Food in 2026 and works in every Polish city the platform runs in. The rule is convenient: you need neither your own money nor change, and the debt limit is 200 zł — once you hit it, cash orders stop coming through. You hand the collected cash back at restaurants on your next pickups, and the balance is settled with the weekly payout.

Do I have to buy the branded Bolt Food bag?

What is compulsory is the thermal bag itself, not a particular model — your own is fully accepted. If you do go for the branded one, expect a charge that later shows up in your deductions, plus a refundable deposit. The condition for the refund is straightforward: hand the bag back within 3 working days of closing the account.

What documents do I need, and what can I ride?

The platform requires you to be 18, to hold a photo identity document and to have a Polish number and a bank account — without those no account is created. There is no upper age limit. You declare your means of transport at registration: bicycle, scooter or car, while partner fleets also handle mopeds. Before your first delivery you complete the compulsory hygiene and BHP (health and safety) training.

I already ride for Bolt Food under another partner — can I switch?

Moving to another partner takes a day in practice. The new partner files you into their fleet, you send a short confirmation through support in the Bolt app, and that is it. The account stays the same, and so do your statistics and delivery history.

How much can you realistically earn on Bolt Food?

Bolt advertises itself with a line about "up to 40 zł an hour", and that is as far as the official declarations go — the platform gives no detail and has not published a price list since 2024. A more useful reference point is the fee per delivery: it usually falls in the region of 8–15 zł gross, depending on zone and hour. The hourly result then follows from order density, and that is lower here than on the biggest apps.

Does Bolt Food really have fewer orders than Glovo and Wolt?

Bolt Food's biggest weakness is well known and worth knowing before you start: there can be noticeably fewer orders than at the competition, especially outside peak hours. That translates into longer gaps between deliveries and a lower hourly figure if you ride on this app alone. Couriers solve it simply — they keep it alongside their main platform and take from it whatever happens to be worth taking.
