What working with Wolt looks like

Wolt is a delivery platform known for its Scandinavian standards — a polished app, support that actually works and customers who order from better restaurants more often. You log into the Wolt app whenever you want to ride, and jobs are offered to you with the fee clearly shown.

Wolt — Zielona Gora: where, when and what to ride

📍

Where the orders are

The pedestrian street and the Old Market hold most of the restaurants, and that is where most of the ordering residents live. The estates to the south give quiet deliveries, while the villages annexed on the outskirts sit so far out they are effectively out of the game.

When to ride

The academic year and evenings between 17:00 and 21:00 are the backbone; the September Winobranie wine festival turns the whole town into one big party and lifts demand for several days. July and August are the quietest stretch of the year here.

🚲

What to ride

The centre is small, and you can cover it by bike without tiring, though the terrain rolls gently. A scooter earns its keep on deliveries to the outskirts, where distances grow quickly.

💡 Worth knowing before your first shift Zielona Gora

Circle around the pedestrian street — from there you have the shortest runs to most restaurants in the city. In winter, watch out for the climbs towards the estates — they can turn slippery with the first snow, and clearing starts with the main streets.

Wolt compared with other apps

Bolt Food does not run in Zielona Gora, so the real choice is between Wolt, Glovo and Uber Eats. Wolt wins on predictability — no slots to book, and the fee is visible on every offer before you confirm it.

How to become a Wolt courier — 3 steps

The only way into Wolt is through a settlement partner from the official list — the platform runs no recruitment of its own. The contract, the taxes and account activation are on the partner's side; you fill in the form and upload your documents online.

1
Start with the short form

Full name, e-mail and phone — they carry over into the partner's system, so you type them once.

2
Documents and contract — online

Upload a scan of your ID on the site and sign the contract electronically. No need to wait for a call first.

3
Install the partner app

Settlements and payouts live there. The advisor may call later, even a week on — your registration moves ahead regardless.

Frequently asked — Wolt Zielona Gora

Are there enough orders in Zielona Gora?

The city is small, so the number of jobs per hour can be lower than in a metropolis, but competition is lighter too. Most of the action happens on evenings during the academic year.

What does the Winobranie festival mean for a courier?

It is the busiest week of the year — the town fills with visitors, and the restaurants run flat out. It is worth planning longer sessions then, since the app boosts fees when demand runs that high.

I want to change my settlement partner — how does that work?

Both companies, the current one and the new one, file the request to Wolt, and the account moves over to the new partner at the start of the following month. That is why it is better to start the process near the end of the month than in the middle of it.

What documents do I need to deliver with Wolt?

The platform itself asks for two things: you must be 18 or over and hold a valid identity document. The rest sits with the settlement partner — Polish citizens need a dowód osobisty (ID card), foreigners a passport plus proof of legal stay (karta pobytu — residence card, a visa or PESEL UKR). The partner checks the full set and helps with legalisation.

Do I need to register my own business?

Registering a business is not necessary — you sign the contract with a settlement partner, and they handle the taxes and ZUS contributions. Our partner appears on Wolt's official list of partners, so your account is activated by the standard route.

Do I have to accept every job?

You can decline offers, and nobody penalises you for declining as such. Wolt gives no official threshold, but your acceptance rate is visible in the app — couriers usually advise keeping it above 60%, and ideally somewhere near 80%. Dropping a job you have already accepted is different: the number of those is limited and they go through support.

Is my city actually taking on couriers?

Recruitment at Wolt opens and closes city by city, and an account is activated only when yours is open. Before you start collecting papers, the partner's advisor will confirm how things stand where you are.

What happens if I take a longer break?

A longer break puts your account to sleep: after about a month without deliveries it needs reactivation, which the partner handles. If you are planning a pause, it is worth telling your advisor — coming back on line is easier that way.

Do I have to book slots with Wolt?

Wolt does not use a slot system — you do not reserve hours ahead of time. You switch the app on when you have time and take the jobs offered; for many couriers the absence of a schedule is the main reason they choose this app.

Will I get equipment — a bag and a jacket?

A thermal bag is compulsory, but Wolt neither issues nor sells kit — you get it from the settlement partner, buying or renting. A bag you have already used on another app is usually enough to start. Branded clothing, if there is any at all, comes from the partner rather than the platform.

Do tips go to the courier?

A tip from the app is added to the courier's settlement. Treat it as a pleasant extra rather than the basis of your sums — the scale varies by city and by time of day.

Can I combine Wolt with other apps?

Wolt sits comfortably alongside Uber Eats or Bolt Food — two apps at once let you fill the gaps between peaks. Glovo is a separate story: orders there come almost without a break, so it is ridden separately.

Do I need to speak Polish?

Basic Polish or English is enough — the app is simple and map-based. Registration with the partner also works in Russian and Ukrainian, and support replies in your language.

I already deliver with Wolt under another partner — can I switch?

Switching is possible, but not overnight: the request to Wolt is filed by both partners — your current one and the new one — and the account only switches over on the first working day after the month closes. You do not terminate the contract with the old partner yourself, because they are the ones settling your current month. We have a step-by-step guide on a separate page.
