Wolt Gliwice — courier jobs

Gliwice is the technical brain of Silesia: a technical university, an industrial park and companies from all over the world in the economic zone. Wolt here rides between halls of residence, offices and the historic Market Square, and the city has its own separate zone in the app.

Working with Wolt — how it works

Wolt is a delivery platform known for its Scandinavian standards — a polished app, support that actually works and customers who order from better restaurants more often. You log into the Wolt app whenever you want to ride, and jobs are offered to you with the fee clearly shown.

A polished app and support that genuinely replies
No slot booking — you go online whenever you want to ride
Higher average basket and polite customers — they order from the better restaurants in the centre more often

Gliwice up close: where Wolt orders are and at what hours

📍

Where the orders are

The Market Square and the whole centre are the base; the area around the university keeps up evening demand throughout the academic year. Trynek and Zatorze mean quiet estate deliveries, while Labedy is far enough out that a trip there needs weighing up.

When to ride

Evenings from 17:30 to 21:30 are the safest bet, topped up on weekdays by students ordering after classes. Lunch works only in pockets — wherever the offices and plants are.

🚲

What to ride

The city is flat and well laid out, so a bike does very well in the centre. A scooter starts to pay off once you want to take the longer runs out towards Labedy or Sosnica.

💡 Worth knowing before your first shift Gliwice

Stick to the square between the Market and the university — in that area the next job usually lands before you have even pulled away from the restaurant. Do not plan a whole shift around one long run to Labedy, either: the ride back to the centre is empty.

Wolt or other apps?

Gliwice has its own Wolt zone, separate from Katowice, and that matters because an account works in one city, with a switch running through the partner and depending on open recruitment. Glovo and Uber Eats are the competition present here; Wolt's edge is that it shows you the fee for a job before you tap accept.

How to become a Wolt courier — 3 steps

The only way into Wolt is through a settlement partner from the official list — the platform runs no recruitment of its own. The contract, the taxes and account activation are on the partner's side; you fill in the form and upload your documents online.

1
Start with the short form

Full name, e-mail and phone — they carry over into the partner's system, so you type them once.

2
Documents and contract — online

Upload a scan of your ID on the site and sign the contract electronically. No need to wait for a call first.

3
Install the partner app

Settlements and payouts live there. The advisor may call later, even a week on — your registration moves ahead regardless.

Wolt Gliwice: what couriers ask about

Is the Gliwice zone the same as Katowice?

They are two different zones, even though only a dozen or so kilometres separate the cities. You open an account for a specific location, and changing it later requires a request through the partner and open recruitment on the other end.

When are there the most Wolt jobs in Gliwice?

On weekday evenings, when students and centre residents order. Weekends stay level, and the semester break noticeably quiets things down.

Do I need my own kit to start?

You need a thermal bag — without one the restaurant will not hand over the food. Wolt does not sell this kind of kit, so you get it from the settlement partner, either to keep or to rent.

What documents do I need to deliver with Wolt?

You need an identity document, and foreigners also need proof of legal stay in Poland (karta pobytu — residence card, a visa or PESEL UKR). You upload the documents online, and the settlement partner checks them before your account is activated.

Do I need to register my own business?

A company of your own is not needed — through a settlement partner you ride completely legally without registering a działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship). The contract, the taxes and the ZUS (social insurance) contributions are on the partner's side, and our partner is on Wolt's official list of partners.

Do I have to accept every job?

You can decline offers, and nobody penalises you for declining as such. Wolt gives no official threshold, but your acceptance rate is visible in the app — couriers usually advise keeping it above 60%, and ideally somewhere near 80%. Dropping a job you have already accepted is different: the number of those is limited and they go through support.

Is my city actually taking on couriers?

Wolt activates new accounts only where recruitment in that city is open — in smaller cities it is sometimes closed for a while. The partner's advisor checks the current status before you collect your documents, so you do not spend time waiting for nothing.

What happens if I take a longer break?

A longer break puts your account to sleep: after about a month without deliveries it needs reactivation, which the partner handles. If you are planning a pause, it is worth telling your advisor — coming back on line is easier that way.

Do I have to book slots with Wolt?

Working hours do not have to be planned in advance here — instead of a slot calendar you have an ordinary online button. It is a clear difference from Glovo, where access to the best hours depends on booking ahead.

Will I get equipment — a bag and a jacket?

A thermal bag is compulsory, but Wolt neither issues nor sells kit — you get it from the settlement partner, buying or renting. A bag you have already used on another app is usually enough to start. Branded clothing, if there is any at all, comes from the partner rather than the platform.

Do tips go to the courier?

The tip amount shows in your settlement alongside the fee for the job and stays with you. Some couriers say tipping happens less often on Wolt than on Uber Eats — treat it as a bonus, not a plan.

When will I see my first money?

Settlements run through the partner's app — you can request a payout even daily, BLIK included. No waiting for fixed payout cycles.

Do I need to speak Polish?

Basic Polish or English is perfectly enough — the app runs on the map, and contact with the customer comes down to handing over the order. You can go through registration and support in Russian or Ukrainian.

I already deliver with Wolt under another partner — can I switch?

A change is possible, but it works on a monthly cycle: the request goes to Wolt from both companies — the current one and the new one — and the switch happens once the month has closed. That is why it is better to start the procedure a few days before the end of the month than in the middle of it.
