Galeria Kupiecka on ul. Kupiecka

Galeria Kupiecka (ul. Kupiecka 2) has about 9,000 m² of retail space on two floors plus a garage; it stands on the site of a former car park and bus station. By the S17 on the edge of town, the Świderek retail park is being built — 40 shops and around 700 parking spaces.

Former spa and the Świerk reactor

Otwock was a well-known spa — between the wars about 2,000 patients came here each summer. Many wooden villas in the świdermajer style still stand, e.g. on ul. Prusa and ul. Kościelna. In Świerk, Poland's first nuclear reactor, Ewa, started up in 1958, followed by the Maria reactor in 1974.
