Courier jobs with Bolt Food in Lublin
Lublin is the youngest of these eight Bolt Food markets — the platform launched here on 1 October 2025. That means fewer restaurants in the app than in cities with years of history behind them, but also markedly fewer couriers, who are learning the ground alongside you.
Working with Bolt Food: what the courier job involves
Bolt Food is the simplest of all the big delivery apps in Poland: no calendar, no bookings, no scoring to unlock the best hours. There is one hard number, though — 80% of orders accepted, which the platform states officially and monitors. You are paid for the pickup, for the delivery and for the kilometres from the restaurant to the customer, and zones with multipliers can turn the very same route into very different amounts.

Where the orders are
Evening demand is driven by close to 59,000 students, over 8,000 of them from abroad — one of the most international academic communities in the country. Lunches come from the office belt along Zana, Nałęczowska, Wojciechowska and Szeligowskiego in the Rury and Czuby area, while Węglin Południowy has grown from 9,300 to more than 14,000 residents in eight years.
When to ride
The academic year is the backbone of the calendar here, and weekday evenings can be stronger than weekend ones. July and August, meanwhile, are the season of big events in the Old Town — the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów street-arts festival at the end of July and the Jagiellonian Fair on the third weekend of August fill the centre with people and close off some streets.
What to ride
The Lublin city bike scheme is running and is remarkably cheap — one złoty for the first half hour, across a network of around 180 km of cycle routes. Watch out for two local peculiarities: the trolleybus wires over the streets, which restrict manoeuvres with taller vehicles, and the loess ravines in the western part of the city, which give the routes to Czechów, Sławinek and Podzamcze some sharp elevation changes.
In the evening it pays to stand between Krakowskie Przedmieście and plac Wolności — from there you have both the venues of the tight centre and the newer food strip on Gazowa and Młyńska within reach. On festival days in the Old Town, assume the last few hundred metres will be on foot and build that time in before you accept the order.
Bolt Food or other apps?
A fresh market cuts both ways: the list of venues on Bolt Food is shorter here than at the competition, but so is the queue of riders for every order. A sensible strategy is to keep the app running in parallel with your main one and take from it the routes within Śródmieście, where the restaurants stand thickest.
How to become a Bolt Food courier: from the form to your first delivery
There is no way into Bolt Food either directly or on your own działalność gospodarcza (sole proprietorship) — the platform does not sign B2B contracts with couriers. The only route is a settlement partner: they add you to their fleet, sign the contract, handle the taxes and pass on the earnings that Bolt sends over as one lump sum.
Full name, e-mail and phone — they carry over into the partner's system, so you type them once.
Upload a scan of your ID on the site and sign the contract electronically. No need to wait for a call first.
Settlements and payouts live there. The advisor may call later, even a week on — your registration moves ahead regardless.

Frequently asked — Bolt Food Lublin
How much does a Bolt Food courier earn in Lublin?
A delivery usually works out at around 8–12 zł gross, with the upper end at the evening peak and in bad weather. These are gross values, so estimate net by dividing by 1.23; the market here is young and there are fewer restaurants than in the big metropolises, which feeds straight into order density.
Since when has Bolt Food been operating in Lublin?
The platform launched in Lublin on 1 October 2025, making it the youngest of the app's major markets in Poland. In practice that means a shorter restaurant list, but also less competition among couriers than in cities where Bolt Food has been running for years.
Bike or moped in Lublin?
In Śródmieście and the Old Town the bike wins, and thanks to the cheap city hire scheme you do not even have to start by buying anything. For the western part of the city, though, an e-bike or a moped is worth having — the loess ravines there create climbs that eat time and energy on an ordinary drivetrain.
Do I have to accept every order on Bolt Food?
The acceptance rate on Bolt Food is 80% — eight orders out of ten. The app does not distinguish a refusal from a lapse of attention: an offer that expired while you were parking pulls your statistics down exactly as much as a deliberate tap on "decline". You have roughly a minute to decide, so keep the phone within reach rather than in your backpack.
Do I have to book slots or declare hours on Bolt Food?
Instead of a calendar you have an ordinary online button. For many couriers that is the main reason to keep this app alongside others — you can switch it on for two hours on a Wednesday and not touch it for a week, with no consequences whatsoever. The one exception is an order already accepted, which has to be completed.
How does Bolt Food calculate the delivery fee?
The amount is built from a pickup fee, a delivery fee and a distance fee counted from the restaurant to the customer, with bonuses, zone multipliers, compensations and tips added on top — tips going to the courier in full. Deductions come off that total, for example the charge for a bag or a cash-balance correction. One important detail: Bolt has not published a price list since April 2024, and only a description of the method, without figures, remains on the site.
Why does the amount in the app not match what lands in my account?
The figures on the screen are gross values, not what will reach your account. A simple conversion: take the amount from the app, divide it by 1.23 and you have an approximate net figure. It is worth remembering when you compare Bolt Food with apps that show the courier the post-deduction amount straight away.
What are zones and multipliers on Bolt Food?
Bolt Food prices deliveries through the prism of zones: the same route in a district short of couriers pays noticeably more than in the centre, where riders are plentiful. Between the extreme zones the spread on one delivery can reach nearly double. That is why experienced couriers learn the zone boundaries in their city faster than the street names.
Do I have to buy the branded Bolt Food bag?
What is compulsory is the thermal bag itself, not a particular model — your own is fully accepted. If you do go for the branded one, expect a charge that later shows up in your deductions, plus a refundable deposit. The condition for the refund is straightforward: hand the bag back within 3 working days of closing the account.
I already ride for Bolt Food under another partner — can I switch?
Changing partner on Bolt Food is quick: the new partner adds you to their fleet, and you confirm the move by contacting support in the Bolt app. The whole procedure normally takes one day, and your account and delivery history stay yours — you are not starting from zero.
Does Bolt Food pay for waiting at the restaurant?
Once you pass 15 minutes of waiting at a restaurant, the app starts accruing compensation for your time. The rate is small, but it means standing at the counter is no longer a total write-off. In practice it still pays to notice which venues in your area routinely keep you waiting.
Can I combine Bolt Food with other apps?
Nobody will stop you riding in parallel with Glovo, Wolt or Uber Eats — Bolt Food most often plays exactly that role of app number two. It comes down to simple arithmetic: there are fewer orders here, so Bolt Food on its own rarely fills a schedule. Just remember that the app goes dormant once it drops into the background, and offers can pass you by.
How much can you realistically earn on Bolt Food?
The platform's official slogan talks about "up to 40 zł an hour", but that is a marketing message with no conditions spelled out. It is more realistic to count per delivery: independent courier calculations point to an order of magnitude of roughly 8 to 15 zł per delivery, depending on zone, distance and time of day. All of those amounts are gross, and the hourly figure depends mostly on how many orders you manage to do in that time — and there are fewer of them here than at the competition.
Does Bolt Food really have fewer orders than Glovo and Wolt?
Bolt Food's biggest weakness is well known and worth knowing before you start: there can be noticeably fewer orders than at the competition, especially outside peak hours. That translates into longer gaps between deliveries and a lower hourly figure if you ride on this app alone. Couriers solve it simply — they keep it alongside their main platform and take from it whatever happens to be worth taking.
