Key dates
- 5 March 2026 — the law comes into force. Only people with UKR status can register a new sole proprietorship.
- 31 August 2026 — the last day to complete your data if your PESEL UKR was issued without a photo ID.
- 1 September 2026 — anyone who has not completed their data loses temporary protection, unless they have another basis for staying.
- 4 March 2027 — the legal stay of people with UKR status is extended until this date.
- 4 March 2029 — until this date, Ukrainian citizens staying in Poland legally, including those without UKR status, can work under the simplified notification procedure.
The CUKR card
The law introduces a new CUKR residence card — for 3 years, with access to the labour market. Conditions: UKR status on 4 June 2025, active UKR status on the day you apply, and at least 365 days of uninterrupted UKR status. The Office for Foreigners (UdSC) will announce how to apply.
What it means for couriers
With UKR status you can keep riding on an umowa zlecenie — whoever gives you the work files the notification. Watch the 31 August 2026 deadline if your PESEL UKR was issued without a passport.
